December 1, 2009 (TPI – Toms River, NJ) – After 36 weekly questions and a lot of web searching, the KNASCAR Knowledge contest ended this year in conjunction with the final Sprint cup race at Homestead Miami Speedway. While Jimmie Johnson won his fourth straight title holding off Mark Martin, ChadlyRoush (Chad) of Wisconsin won the Seventh year of the KNASCAR Knowledge Trivia contest, so congratulations to Chad. He will soon receive his prize selection, which was a $200 Gift Card to NASCAR’s Superstore.

Stone167, last year's winner, was in the hunt for his 2nd title in a row up until the final week. Chad’s 8 wins (correctly answering the question first) on the season made him tough to beat. cheesehead4ever had 4 wins which was second best for the season, followed by Stone167 with 3 wins. In addition to all those in the Top 12 in the “Chase”, Congratulations also needs to be sent to dbmattox and craig99 who both impressively picked the race winner 8 times during the season. Also congratulations to madcityracefan who, despite missing the chase, came back and maintained the 13th place position throughout the final weeks of the season.

  • KNASCAR Knowledge Fantasy/Scramble Contest Final Results

In KNASCAR Knowledge's third year of this second contest, Cy8erRacer08 (Scott) also from Wisconsin (We think that’s the first time there has been a Wisconsin sweep) won the Fantasy/Scramble contest.

Scott will receive a set of two Matt Kenseth 2009 Autographed Platinum Series 1/24th Diecast cars.

The standings this year were very close with five competitors still vying for the win in the final week.

On the final week, it came down to the on track differential between Carl Edwards and A.J. Allmendinger as 4 of the top 5 contestants picked those cars. Somehow, A.J. came through with a Top 10 which really seemed to make the difference. Congratulations to Scott on winning this year's contest!

Here are the Top 10 final standings for the 2009 Fantasy/Scramble contest:

About the KNASCAR Knowledge Trivia contest

On race weekends, pre-registered contestants try to quickly answer questions about NASCAR races, rules, events, history, and teams, with the key adverb being quickly. The faster contestants answer the weekly question, the more points they get. Weekly points are based on the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series points system with the contest winner being the contestant with the most points at the end of the season. The contest started during the Daytona Speed Weeks and ended November 22nd, 2009. Hopefully, we’ll be back for another season in 2010.
